Online planning tool enables home buyers to design their dream home

Home buyers now have the chance to play amateur architect thanks to the new online tool by Hotondo Homes, allowing individuals to customise their dream home themselves.

The new interactive Hotondo Home Planner enables home buyers to choose from one of 40 standard Hotondo Homes designs and making their own modifications with the click of the mouse, turning the basic design into their dream home.

“Hotondo Homes is leading the way with a customer friendly tool on their website, which enables potential customers to freely draw on our standard home designs and transform it into their dream home,” said Jodie Flower, National Marketing Manager of Hotondo Homes.

“One of the best things about the Home Planner is that customers have engaged with our brand and formed an attachment to their dream home before they have even contacted one of our builders.

“It is then up to our builders to build upon this relationship and turn their dream home into a reality.

“All advertising directs consumers to the Hotondo Homes website, where they can choose a standard home design, then draw on the design to alter it and turn it into their dream home. The campaign slogan is ‘Choose a house you like. Create a home you love’ and that is exactly what the Hotondo Home Planner enables consumers to do.

“Last year we conducted some focus groups and the outcome was that consumers want the flexibility to tweak floor plans to be able to build a home suited to their own lifestyle and requirements, so we are just listening to consumers and filling a gap in the market.

“We are very excited about our new campaign, and we are looking forward to changing the face of the building industry,” continued Ms Flower.

January 2012 has seen the new Home Planner campaign ‘start making plans’ launched through traditional medias such as television, radio and press, plus non-traditional sites including Facebook and YouTube.
