Hotondo Homes Hosts Second Women In Business Conference
After the success of the first Women In Business Conference held last year, Hotondo Homes conducted another one this year, resulting in more franchise women attending.
Hotondo Homes understand that women play an integral part of their businesses and are heavily involved in business growth and decision making.
“We want to provide women with the tools and support they need to strive in a male dominated industry,” said Jodie Flower, Marketing Manager for Hotondo Homes.
Female leaders from Hotondo Homes franchises around Australia all came together for a three day conference on 24th February 2011.
The three days comprised of two business days, followed by a social day out at the races.
“We were blown away with the energy, openness, willingness to learn, and participation of the franchise women that attended,” continued Ms Flower.
Sessions were based around business topics such as; business planning, communication, leadership, and managing a diverse team. In addition, there were also topics about health and fitness, confidence, self management, and the importance of work/life balance.
“We have received very positive feedback about the conference, and are pleased to see that the women are already implementing changes into their businesses,” said Ms Flower.
All the women enjoyed the opportunity to speak with fellow franchise owners, as they all find themselves in similar situations. See below for some further feedback that was received.
Katina Core from Hotondo Homes in Canberra, ACT, said, “It was great to be able to work on the business and not just in it.”
Sharyn James from Hotondo Homes in Gosford, NSW, said, ““Something important that I learnt was how to match people to tasks in order to get the most out of them. Learning to understand diverse team dynamics to see who can lead and who may need more direction.”
Gill Holtham from Hotondo Homes in Berri, South Australia, said, “The conference was relevant to me, both personally and professionally.”
Hotondo Homes is the leading network of professional builders, with 95 franchises throughout Australia.
