30 YEARS OF HOTONDO HOMES
Hotondo Homes is Australia’s leading network of professional builders, and is celebrating 30 years in the building industry.
Hotondo Homes was established in 1979 in Deniliquin, New South Wales, as a new building company that was to specialise in the public housing sector, but rapidly expanded into Victoria.
By 1987, Hotondo Homes had moved its headquarters to Melbourne and become the third largest home builder in Victoria.
Hotondo Homes dramatically changed the direction of the building company in 1993, and restructured it as the Hotondo Homes Franchising Network. The franchise provides tools for small and medium builders to be able to match the might of large scale volume builders that increasingly dominate the market.
Hotondo Homes have a Support Office that provides marketing, designs, purchasing, systems, business coaching and staff training to help independent builders improve and grow their business.
Managing Director Michael Renwick said, “The franchise has been successful as we recognise and understand the needs of small and medium builders, as they want to remain independent and provide quality customer service, and we allow them to do so with added support to assist them and help them grow”.
Almost two decades and 15,000 houses later, the extensive range of services to Hotondo Homes franchisees is continually being expanded and increased to keep up with the needs of the modern builder.
Over the past 30 years, Hotondo Homes has received many industry awards from both the Housing Industry Association and the Master Builder Association, and in 2008 was proud to be the first building company in Australia to win the Franchise Council of Australia’s prestigious ‘Franchisor of the Year’ award in the service category.
